Vacation Time!
I want to take a minute and thank e
veryone who has taken the time to post a review on Adrift. Whether it be on Amazon, Goodreads, or elsewhere, it helps immensely! THANK YOU!
Besides working on the bonus scene I mentioned in last week’s blog post, I spent this week getting ready for a family vacation. It takes a lot of prep to get a house, 2 kids, dog, and husband ready to leave for a couple of weeks, but it’s TOTALLY worth it; we’re going on a 12-day Disney Cruise to the North Atlantic! I’m SO excited- several bucket-list-type countries are on the itinerary!
Over the years we’ve been on a couple of Disney Cruises in the Caribbean, but this is a vacation that we’ve have planned for at least the past 18 months. We’ve taken our girls on other vacations and cruise lines, but Disney is the way to go! I’d happily sing its praises all day.
No matter where my family and I go, we always have a “vacation” portion to our vacation. That is to say, we don’t pack events into every day we’re gone. We take time to actually relax! When we were living in North Dakota, two consecutive years we went to Florida during the long winter to have a break from the sub-zero temperatures. We’d spend a couple of days in Orlando doing the typical adventure park thing, but then we’d go the the coast, stay at a little B&B, and enjoy the beach. We’d lounge as much we possible, read books, spend time together, and recharge. I refuse to return home and need a vacation from our vacation… not our style.
I’m curious to know: where are your favorite places to vacation? Do you go back to the same place year after year, or is it always to a new place?
