My Google History
I was sitting at my computer coming up with a topic for this week’s blog post and thought that you all might like to see some of my Google history. Recently I talked about the strange things an author needs to look up while writing a book. Even though book #5 is nearly completed there are still details that I have yet to figure out. This browsing history gives you a glimpse into the next book.
- https://www.google.it/search?q=how+to+deflect+an+asteroid Good ol’ Google. What would I do without you?
- https://www.nasa.gov/content/what-is-nasa-s-asteroid-redirect-mission When I clicked on this I was thinking, “Please let there be a plan for when an asteroid nears!”
- http://www.space.com/23530-killer-asteroid-deflection-saving-humanity.html My favorite quote from this article: “Our challenge is to find these asteroids first, before they find us. You cannot deflect an asteroid you haven’t yet found.” The good news is that we are actively searching for them!
- http://uk.businessinsider.com/asteroid-deflection-kinetic-impact Let’s just launch stuff at them and see how that works!
- http://www.ucl.ac.uk/archaeology/ No, I’m not considering changing careers and going back to school. 😉
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cusco_Region The region of Peru with Machu Picchu… not as random a search as you’d think. Are you confused yet?
- https://www.google.com/maps/place/Loch+Lomond/ Again, not as random as it appears to be.
- http://www.projects-abroad.org/volunteer-projects/projects-for-professionals/archaeology/ Are you seeing a theme?
- http://www.thesaurus.com/ This is a web page that is almost-always open.
- https://www.rt.com/uk/370299-penis-bone-human-males/ I went down the Facebook rabbit hole and read this article. I know it sounds ridiculous (and it kinda is) but it’s also very interesting and educational.
- http://allrecipes.com/ Hey, a girls gotta eat!
Other websites often visited (sometimes several times a day): Facebook, Amazon (it’s almost Christmas!), Gmail, Shutterfly (again, it’s nearly Christmas), Pandora (my go-to site for tunes!), and Pinterest.
So, what do you think? This is only about 1 day’s worth of research.
Before I end this I just want to take the opportunity to wish you all a VERY Happy Holidays!
